alright guys from the past 1.5 months because of Covid getting stuff ordered from IKEA has been a nightmare! seems like nothing is in stock and if it is you need to have all the patience in the world for all the items to come in. they won't allow you to pay for everything up front but instead you have to select the "notify me" on the items you want and than pay for them as they show availability. anyways, i'm about 60% complete with just 40% more to go to complete my order but the good thing is i can now at least get started on the project so here is what's in store!
My home theater room upstairs that i had planned has been scrapped because the wifey bought me a Porsche so i had no problems giving up that project lol! so that room will now be her walk in room! not walk in closet...walk in room because the room is 28'x18'. everything that we ordered has been coming in little by little and i have them all sitting in the garage. i have a delivery this Friday to deliver the rest of the wardrobe frames so now i can at least start getting things into place. here's the design we have in place. all from Paxton Systems the interior parts could change due to how long it takes to get stuff in but i'll worry about that later one wall will have this setup. the space between the cabinets is where the door is on the opposite wall will be this setup now on the other 2 walls i'll custom build some cabinets like i did with the office as those cabinets will not have drawers but shelves for her shoes, purses and what not. now all the Paxton cabinets will have the same treatment as i did in the office. i will have crown moulding on top. trim pieces throughout any non moving shelving and a nicer baseboard just like i did with the office cabinet. i'll take progress pictures you guys. i'll first have to remove the old carpet and for the flooring we decided to go with bamboo flooring again. the room itself will be painted a Satin white

Man, I wish I'd known about this thread a while back!
Short story: My ex-wife trashed my house shortly before I won it back in the divorce. Forced a full gut/renovation type situation. It needed it anyway. I don't have a lot of before photos and even these won't tell you much, but this was it. Brown carpet, tan paint. Everywhere. Except for the foyer which had some weird black stone stuff for the floor. So just use that for reference, along with the image of my ex-wife standing around looking pissy all the time, and you'll get the idea. Dark and depressing. The house wasn't all that cheerful looking, either. To now: Flash forward a few months, now there's undercabinet lighting and more fridge art: A more recent (small) project, added two wall lights above the TV to add more light, with wire hiders. Also added a finial to the mid-century style stair rail. My house, my daughter, my dog, and myself are all doing a lot better these days than we were. There's way more I could add here in details and other features, but I've taken up too much space already!

We had to wait 6 month for the concrete tiles to come in but finally got our roof replaced. Painting up next. Some before, during and after pics below.

Thanks! Very happy with it. Lots of cleanup through lol.
For colors, white will be main color, charcoal / black for front doors, garage doors and fascia (gutters will be black) and medium gray for other areas / trim, which isn’t a lot, mostly under windows. Fence in back will also be the same charcoal / black and we are having light fixtures in front refinished with the same color.

Moved into our new house in Florida, still trying to get a hold of what needs to be done here. First priority it to fence this massive yard! I really want to get the garage floor done with an epoxy deal. Luckily this place was a new build so I can focus on making it our own instead of fixing other people's mess. LoL

Since finishing phase 3 of the garage - time to move on to the outside.
This was phase 3 (slat board all around both bays).

Now to do something to spice up this area. Porch is 24x15 - put the fireplace in last year.
Random helpers at the end.

First step today was to beef up the inner walls for anchor bolts. Wall is stable - hasn't budged in 15 years since I did it, but needs to have two solid areas for pour in anchor bolts.

Today's work was setting up the scaffolding (nice that the father-in-law happens to have this hanging around). From that, used the Hilti to drill some holes and set the header boards for the rafters.

Once the header board was in, I set the edge rafters to proper height, building temp corners, which allowed me to set the posts - and 1/2 of the beam the rafters will sit on. Not easy to set this...not easy at all.

Long weekend - but got the main body of this done. Starting with the sandwich beam - adding the rafters, then the long task of adding the cross sections (which I found it easier to jump out the 2nd story window and set from above - knees don't agree)

From that, I was able to set the light. Needed to redo the outlet in the corner which hasn't worked in 20 years now....ran new wire and a proper GFCI for outdoor use.
Next is a good power wash and a cedar slat board that I'll be placing over the red CMU wall. Also determined that I need one more row across the top, which I'll probably do tonight.
