We are planning to remodel our master bath (and possibly the cabana bath) + paint most of the interior. Waiting on contractor bids and proposed scheduling. Looking forward to seeing everything done, but not looking forward to living through it or paying for it.

We have plans approved by the city to add 1000 sq/ft to our home, just waiting to finalize the bidding process.
With two kids and two dogs this is going to be interesting, especially since this is going to probably start in the late fall and continue through the winter. |

We did a similar concept with an outdoor kitchen and a TV in the backsplash. Its a cool idea with a pretty easy implementation. My father and i built in a week or so.

Built a firepit area over the last two weekends. Rented an excavator to level the ground and dig out the boulders, put down some limestone screening and then compacted it. Then finished with 2 inches of small river rock (and compacted that too). Used some cut up trunks of some trees that fell on our property as stools for that ever so popular rustic look
I'm happy with the final outcome in the last pic. |

Wow! That is a cool fire pit in the woods.
Such a foreign idea to have that much land ...Growing up in So. Cal, I have never lived in a house that had a lot size greater than 5,000 sq. ft. |

By comparison, the lot I have now is 96,000 sq. ft. and I don't think its huge or anything, but land is definitely cheaper here! And where Mr Tonka lives, because, well, Mr Tonka. |

And the excavator lived up to expectations too - thing was a lot of fun. Amazing what it can dig out - all those boulders were dug out by it - the largest one I dug out, but had to push into place, it was over it's lift capacity it seemed. Excavator - highly recommended! |
