Yeah hard work and diet pays off, but I mean come on how are you going to tell all these heads you're natural when you're clearly on a number of different substances.

The fitness industry is just smoke and mirrors, probably took me years to actually realize this in it's entirety. There are limits to a natural physique, unfortunately.

For the record I'm not against those who use, I'm against liars haha. I'm also not stating that using will lead to your goals either. The naive would think that if you use you're going to get ripped, but you'd be shocked at the people that use and still look like shit. I could go on and on, but it really just boils down to science. The elite body builders in this world are genetic specimens to begin with, but don't think for a second they're anything close to natural.

I'm natural, a few years ago I wanted to be a freak, thought about dipping my toes. But I want kids in the future. Yeah there are plenty of rebound substances out there clomid/tamoxifen(nolva)/etc. But there are also plenty of horror stories.

Sorry for the rant, but getting through the frustration of limitation is when you break your own boundaries. The thought that always kept me going "well if I don't keep pushing forward then I'll just be taking steps back, then what?".

This doesn't get too scientific, but I feel like it's a good read with realistic numbers https://www.tigerfitness.com/blogs/w...ntial-arm-size
This right here. And along with those physique genetics come the genetics to also process said substances a lot more efficiently than others. Being around this sport as long as I have, I know people that barely take anything and their gains just explode.

And I also know others that take everything and the kitchen sink and still look mediocre.

I always thought Stuart McRobert laid out pretty good expectations in his Beyond Brawn series of what a "Natural" person could accomplish in regards to their natural joint sizes and other measures.

Yeah...I would have had to walk away from that. If not, natural instinct would have kicked off and I would probably be having to be bonded out again. My wife told me last time that it was the last time.

I tried to make a joke out of it and asked her if that was a threat. It didn't go over too well.

LOL...we have guys that have been members for years that still do that.

I consciously try to keep my arms at my sides so I don't get made fun of!

He has some great books although I think he leans a little to the conservative side of training frequency.

But he has ratios for wrist measurements that calculate out to arm size at different weight/height ratios, and what he feels the best lifts a Natural Trainer would hit in the big 3 lifts.

He was a big Arthur Jones guy back in the day I believe...so take some of his stuff with a grain of salt. But he does hit on some good points in other areas.

Beet dirt:

After tonight's workout I was in the kitchen with my bag of dirt. I had mixed up some BCAA to wash a spoonful down. Dog kept looking at me with those eyes so I put a small portion on my hand and offered to her. She lapped it up than walked away as I was laughing. I offered her a rock of it and she chewed it right up. So I had 2 spoons

Phone died over night because I didn't have the charging cord in it all the way. Missed my alarm so missed the gym this morning. No worries though, I'll just hit it after work. Shoulders an biceps today! Yesterday was Back and Triceps, back it pretty beat up.

Going to really get after my shoulders today. I always get a great pump, but never much soreness in them, not sure if it's just because it's a smaller muscle body or what.

I never have DOMS with shoulders either, but they they pump up so great during my workouts that it is painful doing them. I have to stretch extensively between sets to be able to complete my worksets!

We have a perfect technique for that in aikido.....but you have the person in a crossed armbar with his wrist in one hand, and opposing shoulder in the other.

Just a quick twist of your waist while moving can put the person into a wall, table, or anything else of interest.

Works really well on heavier people as their first instinct is to go up on their toes to alleviate the pain allowing you to move them pretty easy, and once they are off balance....their bodyweight does the rest.

We teach it to police here as it allows them to pretty much maneuver the person anyway they want even if it's only being escorted into the backseat of a patrol car.

Same. Torn shoulder has had me doing just legs for two months. Ready to be back fully. Wish it would've at least happened in January so I'd miss the Resolutioners

I didn't even consciously work shoulders last night, but those tri presses with heavier weights had me go to the coffee shop this morning and get leaded. I didn't even want to wash my pits after Wednesday night back/bi.

It's frustrating with these heavier weights on pull days, it's my grip that fails before the targeted muscles.
