Silva wants GSP .... someone who fights a weight class below him and is coming off what .. a year layoff due to an injury? I understand he wants big money fights but that's just ridiculous. I really really hope GSP wants nothing to do with that.
Glad to see I'm not the only one who is befuddled at the odd things Faber does that get rewarded with title shots. Can't wait to hear the "reason" his next fight will be a title shot as well. |

I'm seriously not even interested in watching silva fight any of the other middleweights. Him vs Diaz, Rashad and GSP should be his last 3 fights in his career. Of course that wouldn't be fair for those in mw tho so that just won't happen lol. I say he fights in autumn against a mw to shut up the critics and show he isn't "just sitting around" and waits for a superfight during superbowl weekend.
edit. lmfao, everyone wants a piece of the anderson silva pie! Oh Shogun, not you too haha http://www.fightersonlymag.com/conte...ight-andersonq Last edited by Garduna; 08-03-2012 at 05:18 AM.. |

Dana said in an interview yesterday, its a def possibility for Anderson vs GSP. I was rooting for Condit in the GSP fight but if GSP gets a fight w/ Anderson if he wins, then I might have to start rooting for GSP lol

The GSP v Silva fight looks like it's getting some momentum. Seems like everyone is keen but I'm betting GSP will come up with an excuse. I think GSP is a great fighter but he's always ducked this fight. My theory is he's waiting for Silva to reach his 50's then he may call him out of retirement. Would be great to see it at a catchweight, it's a fight for the fans.
Also noticed plenty of guys calling out Silva of late. I wonder how much $$$ has to do with it. I know Chael got payed, really well too. I think for some of these up and coming guys like Weidman, win or lose, a title fight with Silva is a huge pay day. Probably more money than he's been paid in his entire career. If they win they probably imagine their set for life. I know fighters say money doesn't have much to do with it but I'm sure it does. I'd like to see Silva against GSP or Rashad. Otherwise I wouldn't mind him taking on a big name at LHW. I would never rule out the JJ fight but don't think it would happen. If he does fight JJ and wins decisively, it will be hard to argue against him being the P4P king. |

Oh yeah, I really do hope that GSP wins. Got nothing against Condit but don't see him winning and I'm a fan of GSP. GSP needs to defend the title tho just like Silva. It's annoying cuz they are champs of their division and they need to defend those belts. Silva vs GSP would be a catchweight to be fair and it won't jeopardize the belt switching hands (tho it would since a champ will get beat). My take is since it's 170-185, Split it so that Silva needs to cut a little more weight but that just benefits GSP really lol. Perhaps a 180 catchweight?

Vera had no business fighting shogun, the guy is a bum. I remember how overrated he was a few years ago on sherdog, always knew the guy was weak.

the best fox card to date, good to see Mike Swick back, specially getting the win. Machida looked great and props to Vera for making it a good fight, if Shogun could get good cardio, he would be a beast
Lauzon vs Varner was great, good back and forth scrap |

Shogun looked terrible. If it took 4 rounds to finish Vera, he got no business fighting for the title again.
Machida would have the best chance, although IMO he'd still lose again.

I would say, without disrespecting Benny, that he'd be taken down on his ass within the first 30 seconds.

I'm as big of a Shogun fan as you'll find and I'm honestly happy that Machida will get the shot.
Props to him for getting a win, Vera came to fight, I was impressed. If he shows up to fight Jones like that though ... good night. Machinda looked good in dispatching Bader, but Jones isn't going to wade in like that and throw. He might throw .... but he'll do it from the other side of the octagon. No reason to think it will end any differently than the first time, except maybe unconsciousness comes from a punch and not a choke this time. Loved Varner Vs. Jennifer Lopez - great back and forth scrap. |
