My close friend works at a company that does home moves and they broker car shipments. I use him for that so I don't have to pay the broker fee but I still have to pay full fee (cash on delivery) to the guy who drops my car off. You will prob have to do the same. I can't help you with a deal though just giving some info.

Give BOOF-M3 a shout. Plenty of people have used his shipper’s service with great results and great prices. I got a quote to ship from Arizona to Atlanta that was 30% less than my next lowest quote.

Did you end up running into an issue? I used red carpet at the recommendation of Steve Thomas BMW and had a good experience. Although I did find out they get an independent transport and they aren't the ones transporting.

Yes major issue. Not disclosing much information out of respect to my close friend (I want to avoid him receding any negative publicity or blowback from something he shouldn't), but since they are as you say, if the damage is between 0 and under 3 or 4 thousand, the carrier insurance won't cover damages and driver will bail on you and take the few hundred dollar loss to avoid paying thousands in damages.

Red carpet will also just keep dragging their feet (been 4 months of back and fourth) until the client hopefully gives up.

I mean it's ultimately the driver's responsibility but red carpet provided the insurance policy of the driver for my transport (without asking). It's easy enough to go after the driver with that...

Uh no, if I contact a company to ship my car, I expect that company to be responsible for any issues.

Brokers are almost never responsible for the party (seller) who's providing services to a buyer. I won't derail the thread any further but you won't get anywhere going after the broker lawyer or not.

Yes, but since red carpet offered minimal support, and does what every other broker in the country does, there is literally no point in choosing them over any other broker. I also was not aware that I'd be shit out of luck if there is any damage to the vehicle.

That's what I was assuming. There would be some kind of assistance from the broker. Red carpet did not even refund me the cost of shipping (which was only a third of the price of the damage) so I'd consider their customer service to be atrocious.

It will be around $1000.
If that's what you expect, then PM me. I can recommend the guy I used.
He's a broker. Most shippers now are brokers. It's like real estate agents... they search a board (MLS) that only they have access to, and match you with a driver that's offering their services.
Few big companies will ship cars, but usually as part of a big house move. Not economically feasible to ship only one car in a truck.

As I said above, I used Passport Transport for basically that route, NJ right next to NYC to LA. $2,416.09, earlier this year. That's high end enclosed transport, company truck, company driver.

A carrier with enclosed truck for my M4 CS?

Hi guys,

I am going to move from MI to SoCal in a few weeks and have been looking for a carrier having its own enclosed truck and staff to have my car shipped.

I had a very good experience with Intercity Lines but this time they said they are occupied and can't guarantee a pick-up date.

Has anyone tried out or known any other reliable truck companies? I don't want to deal with brokers.

Thank you!

The only shipping company I've ever had a positive experience with has been Executive Auto Shippers, which is Professional Auto Shippers now. Drivers have always been prompt and professional with no damage ever done to my cars. With other companies I've had damage done, cars show up a week late, drivers be unresponsive, etc. Since using PAS I've never had an issue. I'd highly recommend them.

Edit to add: The worst experience I ever had was a driver told me they got "stuck" in a city overnight waiting for a pickup. When they showed up two days later my car had 60 more miles than when it left the dealer, had dirty footprints all over both floor mats, and a parking ticket stub. I never found out where they took it.

If I can give any advice based on my experiences, be crazy. Make it obvious you're going to go over everything. I take dozens of pictures, spend at least 20 minutes going through the physical walkthrough of the car with the driver, ask if they will be taking my car off of the trailer for any other pickups or drop offs, and if so when and where. If I have a dealer send me the car then I ask them a day before hand to send me a fully detailed shipping ticket that they do by themselves to highlight any imperfections. I also have them send me picks of the odometer before going on the truck, picks of mirrors, rims, doors, etc. I also ask for detailed pics of the interior, bottoms of splitter, diffuser, basically anything that might go over looked but also highlights the fact that I'm going to be very difficult so don't try to take advantage or say something was already there.

my company uses reliable transport for all of my moves. i have not had any issues and they seem to have decent enough volumes that they can pick up within a 3 day window. It usually will take 3-5 business days for the vehicle to arrive. They use proper lifts that accommodate lower vehicle ride heights. https://reliable-carriers.com/

I haven't used other companies so that's all the experience I have had and our moving company brokers it with them.

Auto Transport Recommendations

Anyone have a carrier/person they can recommend to have a vehicle shipped? I am looking to purchase a vehicle in either Maryland or New Jersey and have it shipped to me in Texas. Nothing too crazy in terms of cost, but still well cared for in transport. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
