I'm REALLY getting tired of this whole "retro" look that has taken over all the latest domestic lines. Hmm...let's see so far:
- Chrysler 300 - Chrysler PT Cruiser (design failure) - Chevy HHR (ugly IMHO) - Dodge Charger - Dodge Challenger - Ford Mustang ...and now the Chevy Camaro. Maybe it's just me...but seriously...I'm just not feeling it anymore. Am I the only one here? |

Why can't they use the same body style of their older models and update the engine?
I bet people would love that |

Well, first off, do you like it? Cuz I do. Not many people seem to like it.

But I like the Camaro. But I've been a Camaro fan, just as long as euro's too. |

I think they look pretty sick, I actually like the retro style a lot better on the camaro than the mustang or challanger, it has much more modern edges and look to it than the others. That 2nd pic makes it look mean as hell

I can't help but think the 2010 Camaro is marketed to white trash in a midlife crisis.
Another car for people with bad taste. Just wanting to look bad ass in their ride. |

Blame VW with the '98 Beetle for starting this thing. See, this shit's been going on for 10 years now.

looks nice but if I want a camaro that looks like it's from another decade then I'll just go buy a 69 SS and be done with it.

Designer A: What do we do for our latest design? Designer B: I dunno...hell we could try designing something original. Designer A: How about another SUV cross-over. Except we'll make it a cross-over of a cross-over. We'll call it the UnCrossed. CXC. Designer B: Yeah and we could just copy some other design from Europe for the basis of our design. Designer A: Screw that. Too much work. Let's just recycle an old design from our own archives. Designer B: But if we just copy an old design, won't the public think it looks like a 30 year old car and not buy it? Designer A: Yeah but all we need to do is smooth out some of the lines...you can do it in Photoshop using the blur and smudge tool. Like this! *twenty minutes later* Designer A: Jeez I'm good. The marketing boys will orgasm once they see this Designer B: You are my hero! |

"Retro" designs I don't mind.
1) Mercedes G-Wagen (not really retro tho as they were manufacturing that car up until they discontinued it lately) 2) Ford GT Retro design of an old car I wouldn't mind seeing in production: 1) Jaguar E-Type 2) Lamborghini Muira (like photo below...but in different colour and with different wheels). |
