Face Coverings / Masks
Considering the proliferation of mask/face covering requirements, I thought we should start a thread about what you're using or buying for this need. Are you going the medical route? Construction style? Bandanna/scarf/buff style solution? What's your weapon of choice?

So far I've been using bandannas, but I foresee having to wear something over my face so often I'm exploring more dedicated solutions that require less adjusting. I'll probably end up buying an assortment of coverings for different applications, like work, golf, etc.. This Kryptek version fought my eye today. I might pick up one of their buff-style things too.

I have a construction-style solution that I wouldn't seriously wear around in public. I bought it months ago for a renovation, but I made this picture my Microsoft Teams profile picture. Lol

They also work well as Mortal Kombat / Shredder (from TMNT) costume masks if you get silver. Seth |

Wifey's aunt made up some pretty decent masks for us. The work well and fit nice. Who knows if they're doing any good. I wore mine today in Walmart just because. Maybe 35-40% of the people in Walmart had some sort of mask. Almost none of the Walmart employees wore them, which I found odd.

Son's mother-in-law sent me one she made: old Levi's, replaceable cloth insert, elastic bands from a fitted sheet. Her husband's a physician, so I assume it meets medical standards...

My wife and youngest daughter made some Disney and Harry Potter themed ones. I stick with the black one

Or if you don't use them often, just let them sit for a few days. Today was the first time I used mine. I can't foresee using it again for a week or two.

I like it!
The biggest problem with the ones Wifey's aunt made for us is that mine doesn't go down my neck far enough to get past my goatee. So I'm doubting the efficacy of a mask that doesn't come close to sealing. I worked in the asbestos abatement field for years and I know how important a good seal is. That said, the whole mask thing for the general public is more to catch outgoing coughs and sneezes than it is to prevent inhalation of contaminated air.

So in that case I'm not sure how important a super tight seal would be. |
