battery drain CODE U0079

I’m getting this code U0079. My car keeps dying after it’s been off for 2 hours I have a new alternator and I replaced my battery like 3 times when the car is off I hear something still on sound in the engine bay like the water pump not sure if it’s that what causing the battery to drain. Has anyone had this issue before.

No I haven’t resolved the issue yet haven’t had time all I’ve been doing is leaving the battery unplug whenever i get home or if I go somewhere, so it won’t keep on dying. But I read other people with similar issue I assume is the waterpump since it’s an electric one mostly likely the electronic in it goes bad from what I heard. The only thing I did was replaced the alternator since a mechanic told me that was the issue when it wasn’t, the problem went away for a week n came back. But if I ever find out what it is I’ll comeback n let you know or if you end up finding out before me I would like to know as well.

Yea If you start unplugging it make sure you don’t close the truck all the way happen to me and it was difficult to plug the battery back in I usually put a small microfiber towel by the latch so it won’t lock.

Just got this code this AM after very cold night my wife drove her X1 yesterday said no issues, but I am getting the car inspected this AM and this code is on. Very cold overnight maybe a battery voltage issue? Did you ever get this fixed?

Sorry for the late response hopefully you resolved your issue by now but my fixed with just a jumpstart with another car very odd maybe I just had a low voltage.

Hey yall I have a 2012 F30 335i and my rear taillight had been flickering for months ( have been too lazy to address it before now..lol) and finally it went out. It was not an issue till I went to start my car one day and had no power, I’ve had to jump it several times already and had tried to replace the socket housing, bulbs etc for the taillight. Nothing. The very little battery I did have told me that the camera systems malfunctioned and to charge my battery. Code U0079. Has anyone been able to resolve this ? If not I’m going to have to take it to my n55 mechanic
