What tire did you get? (G45 X3 30 and M50)

Starting a thread to collect data from folks who got their cars.

What kind of tire did you spec when you build you car (all season / performance / high performance)?

What tire did you get with 19/20/21 (903 / 906 / 941 / 1035 / 906M / 1036M / 1037M / 910i )inch wheel?

I saw 20 inch wheel with conti sport contact 7, perellis P0 and 21 inch wheel Goodyears etc.

Did you spec the car with 1036M all seasons? If it comes that way with inventory, ignore this question.

Yes, option 3N1 which is the 20" M Jet Black Bicolor 1036M Wheels with All Season Tires. In my case they came with Pirelli P Zero All Seasons.

21s machined/black 5stars with the Goodyear asymmetric 6 summer. Really quiet awesome tire when it’s not freezing out. Winter the only available option for all season is falken and Michelin pilot all season 4 but u have to step up in width to 265/40/21 up front and 295/35/21 out back. I searched dillegently u can’t even find these Goodyears available for sale anywhere in the spec in which they came from the factory.

Thanks for the info. That is my concern as well. Seems like for the 21 inch wheel tire spec now has stark options when replacing the tires. I heard good thing a about the good year asymmetric 6 though, with foam insulation etc.
I’m leaning towards 20 inch option for more comfort and more tire options but 21 inch does look so much better and more traditionally BMW styled. Seems right now most folks specs with 20 all seasons got Pirelli P0 and no idea what tire from factory if optioned with “performance” or “high performance”. Maybe Conti sport contact 7 or dws 06+?

I got the 21 inch Goodyear eagle f1 summer tires. They came with the matte black 21 inch performance tire option. Are these good tires?

Yeah excellent tires wet and dry if u don’t experience all 4 seasons. But freezing temperatures, snow, and ice are a different story. The compound isn’t made to be flexible in freezing conditions; therefore it will harden and you’ve got yourself a slip n slide 🛝

It looks like the 21s are only built with summer tires. That sucks because I wanted the 21" M Jet Black Bicolor 1037M wheels, but I live in the U.S. North East and I get cold and snowy winters. I’ve noticed that the local dealers in my area usually order their M50 cars with 21s on the GY Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 summer tires, which doesn’t make sense.

Yeah as far as I’m gathered info right now, 1037M 21inch wheel all comes with Goodyear summers and there is not a lot of options with that spec tire either, and you can’t find the same one out of the box with big retailers like tire racks etc. that’s my major concern when come to tire replacement and preferred 20 inch with mostly this reason.
With 20 inch wheel, I think they can be spaced with all seasons (P0 star spec), performance (conti eco contact 6Q which I believe fall into GT summer tire) or high performance (conti sport contact 7, fantastic tire but again this can’t be bought with the same size with those out of the box retailer as well lol). You either need to up a size or probably call them directly and see.

I also got the Continental ProContact Gx on the 20" M Jet Black Bicolor 1036M wheels with all season. They look pretty bad. I guess I lost the tire lottery.

They are all GT/ quiet ride oriented (All seasons for SUVs for a reason). Pirelli P0 All season as well. People argue tire lottery in G87 forums comparing Michelin Ps4s vs Pirelli P0 summers all the time due to its side wall thickness, hot temp traction etc… well I like Michelins because it’s a good brand and it’s like Nike in tire world, they have “signature” side wall designs but Pirelli are also great tire. End of the day you get a tire with BMW star spec within the same category you speced the car with, and should take with a pinch of salt IMHO.

I’ve got the 21 inch Goodyear F1’s. Wonder how many miles I’ll get out of them?

Looks great, let us know the fitment once it mounts onto the wheel! And 285/35 21 to 295/35 21 should not impact much of Speedo difference:

Yeah there’s no other all season option in 285 width and 10.5 inch wheel is supposed to have a 295 anyway.

Hopefully zero miles if temps are below 40 degrees. That summer compound will be no good in the winter unless you live in the sun belt
