I've been thinking about starting something up. I just don't know where to start, how to start, and what to do. I want money, and lots of it. Or, atleast more than I have now. Maybe I should sell drugs. Cocaine is quite popular here........

I have been on Etrade since I was 10
I bought MCRS at 14 dollars, it split, now it is somewhere around 40-50 dollars a share I made 2,000 dollars when I was only 10 and a half...not a bad start |

max out your 401K too!!!
I'm 28 and hitting the annual Max on 401K contributions, have been for 3 years so far already. It's going to pay off bigtime down the road I also use a site www.fool.com and I buy their hidden gems newsletter, it gives you small companies that they've researched to find huge future gains. It's all about paying for research, I don't have the time or expertise to get it right myself. |

I'm 31 and started investing when I was about 25 (didn't have a dime to my name until I finished school). I had just gotten married at the time and we decided to take any money we recieved from the wedding and open an investment account.
Afterwards, we started out putting 5% of our income into 403b/401K accounts each year. Each year we increased the percentage until they were maxed out each year. Since we were young, we set up aggressive portfolios. After we changed jobs, we rolled the money over into IRA's and started maxing those out each year as well. The remainder of my savings goes into a regular brokerage account (TD Ameritrade). Though I will probably consolidate everything to Merrill Lynch or Schwab in the next few years. My plan is to continue to save and invest in this manner and with modest returns I should be able to reproduce my income from interest before I turn 50.

I've only been using that letter for about 6 months,
I was up pretty well until the mini crash of the last month or so I'll attach their "scorecard" for their picks vs the market, up until a couple of weeks ago there was much more green and hardly any red |

I'm 24 and my wife is 25. We like investing and making sure it's diversified.
Our investments include: our home, two rental units, maxing out both of our 401k's, stocks, tax deferred bonds, and mutual funds. |

My wife and I run a real-estate investment company. Alberta is probably the hottest real-estate market in the world right now. My personal residence has gone up 75% in 2.5 years and that's about average here.
We focus on larger projects like condo-conversions and RV resort properties in BC and offer 1st or 2nd mortgage investments at 12% or 18% fixed rates. When you start to compound an 18% fixed rate investment, you will double your money in 4 years. Considering it's RRSP eligible (same as 401K in the US), it's a nice way to make your RSP's grow FAST. Sorry for the shameless plug... but PM me if you need info on investing in Canadian real-estate. I sure wish I knew about investing when I was younger! To those of you who are investing and you are under 25 - good on you!!
