maybe my next car

This car was in the paddock next to me at Laguna Seca on Monday/Tuesday...it is very nice...my only issue is how much power I would be losing going from a chipped 335i to a chipped A4 2.0T.

Audi --> BMW --> back to Audi?

I have to admit, the new A4's are very sexy, even more so than the new c-class, but still a stepdown from the e90 imho... Gotta love those headlamp LED's though

It is actually VW --> BMW --> BMW -- > VW --> VW --> Audi --> Audi --> Audi --> Audi --> Audi --> Audi --> BMW --> Audi --> Audi --> BMW

I have had to many issues with my 335i.

In this market...with the wifey not making decent money in real estate...I cannot handle a $800+ / month Audi S4 lease payment.

It depends on if you are going quattro or FWD; the FWD will not be able to put much power to the ground and the steptronic transmission cannot handle much over 300 TQ or HP unless things have changed since the B7 and MKV platforms. With the quattro and a Haldex, you should be able to shift a lot of the power to a RWD bias and their are a lot of tunes available for Audi as I suppose you already know: APR, REVO, GIAC.

OP, I totally agree with you. I'm going to be taking a long and serious look at the A4/S4 for my next car. Those things are sexy, but I do worry that I'm going to miss the power (which is why I'm leaning more towards the S4).

I want to like all the new audi's (a4, a5, tt-s etc.) but audis prices are just beyond ridiculous. Not that they aren't top quality and such, but they definitely aren't bang for your buck type cars. I really use to hate 350z g37 etc , but i saw a new 370z today in blue and i was like , it really was impressive. That may be a good option for you as well.

^ True, they're pricey for entry-level luxury.

The thing is tho, at lease for me, Audi has been for the a while now has some of the BEST interiors EVER. BMW to me isn't up to par with them just yet. They are getting close but not there yet.

If you want more performance out of your toy, get a BMW. If you want luxury with some kick in your car, get a Audi.

the 2.0T and 335i are not comparable, even chip wise. 335i's get what, 330, 340whp with a chip? I'd give the quattro hugging A4, 230-240whp. Torque however, will be up there near 300 if not past.

This would be a little easier if you had a 328 :P

I dunno about you...but decreasing payments right now seems like the prudent thing to do...THAT is why I am considering the A4 at this time.
