VW has already shown us the awesome Scirocco R. But the fun keeps coming with this special VW Golf GTI "Wörthersee 09". It's not got any extra go sadly...

You wait for one hot Volkswagen to come along and three arrive at once! Hot on the heals of the tasty VW Scirocco R, the German firm has also announced it will show off this modded Golf - the Volkswagen Golf GTI “Wörthersee 09” - at the Wörthersee GTI event. Who'd have guessed that from the name?

As you’d expect for the Wörthersee GTI meet, the GTI has been given a thorough tuning overhaul. It’s painted in a slightly camp shade of Firespark Metallic, rides on 19-inch alloys and has lots of glossy black trim on the inside.

On that glossy black theme, we can't help but notice that it's springing up everywhere - from Audi R8 V10s to VW Polos - as that all-important "premium" accessory. Glossy black is the new white. Fact.

But it’s not just about looking good. The Golf is lowered, and gets a new sports exhaust, but sadly, performance and power output remains the same – 210hp, 0-62mph in 6.9 seconds and a top speed of 148mph. Shame.

FUUUH. I really want the new GTI, but it's gunna cost too much...especially when they just dropped the lease prices on the Jetta. And I think I read somewhere that it doesn't even come out till like October?
