OMG I love it. It's pretty quick too. Using the tethering right now.

I'm assuming this uses the unlimited data plan correct? Not counting against the monthly minutes? I've done some reading and ATT might be planning a certain monthly fee for using tethering. So beware and you might NOT want to use it excessively until it's determined if it will just be part of the normal data package or if they will be charging separately for it.

It allows you to use your iPhone as a modem and get "wi-fi" anywhere you have cell service.

Is this new to the iPhone or something? I've been tethering phones for 5+ years. It's hard to believe that the iPhone wouldn't have had this capability before.

No, it uses the 3G network. It's just so that you can use the phone as a modem in the case that a WAP isn't available. If a WAP were available free of charge, it'd be better to use that more than likely.

Tethering allows you use the phone's data connection as a modem on a computer via a usb or bluetooth connection.

I could only get mine to work with the cable initially. I haven't used it since so I haven't troubleshooted the bluetooth.
