I was out getting some lunch in the Clearwater/St. Pete area and I saw a black late model mercedes go by me. Normally I dont care but then I noticed C63 and amg badges all around the car, so I took a second look. The fenders were wrong, small base rims and tires, wrong exhaust ... I realized this tool went rebadge crazy...

He rolled by me and I couldnt even hear the exhaust, kinda hard to silence a REAL 6.3...

I just looked over and laughed

Haha, I was driving north up to tampa from st. pete in our C63 when I passed a debadged C300/350 with quads and all the AMG pieces. Didn't realize it was a typical C until he floored it lol.

while i agree that rebadging is lame... i disagree that people will look at a base C class with fake C63 AMG badges and go "oooh and ahhh".

the way i see it, people who know what a C63 AMG is, will also know this is a fake. the people who cant tell this is a fake, also will have no idea what a C63 AMG is.

either way... rebadging is just stupid and wont impress your target audience.

if you really want to impress the ignorant, take a S2000 or MRS/MR2, paint it red and slap a bunch of ferrari logos on it. even the most ignorant idiot can easily identify the ferrari logo and associate it with performance and prestige. the average joe wont know or be impressed with C63 AMG logos.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. 99% of the people out there won't care/notice and the other 1% will have a good laugh.

I debadged my E63 completely and hopefully everybody thinks I'm driving a plain old E Class

Seems like a lot of MB owners tend to stick on AMG badges

Have you seen the silver debadged one? He blacked out the tails, has really dark tint, and blacked out all the chrome. Maybe black wheels? I don't remember. I see it in Tampa a lot and once or twice in the Clearwater area. I think it has an exhaust also. It's sick!

Hmmm...possibry...I'm usually around St. Pete more than Tampa. The white one I saw with the quads had blacked out taillights and dark tint...maybe it was silver...

Did the silver guy have quads?

Actually, I'm pretty sure it was white. I now remember how the front black grille contrasted with the body color. I know for a fact it had quads. It's been a while since I've seen it.

I have only seen 2 real C63's driving around the Tampa area so far!

I've seen a guy locally that has an e60, single exhaust outlet (no quads) with M5 badges on the back and where the side vents usually are found on the front fenders of an actual M5. He had what looked like stock 18" rims too. I couldn't tell exactly since we were on the highway. I laughed at him and shook my head when I drove by. I was in my VW Golf at the time.
