Who will be worth more in 5 years?
Bill Gates or Steve Jobs?
I'm having another pointless argument/debate with a buddy of mine. Remember, this is in FIVE years. Steve Jobs, 54yrs old, worth 5.1 Billion Bill Gates, 53 yrs old, worth 50 Billion

Bill Gates - if only because he's got a lot more money to invest, which makes even more and more money...

My thoughts exactly, Blake. Apple is clearly more innovative in my eyes. It just seems that success does not translate up as much to Steve Jobs. There market share has been astronomical on many fronts though.

Microsoft is more than Bill Gates. Apple IS Steve Jobs. Whenever he leaves the company things will not be pretty.
As far as net worth, I think the last 20 years has shown which one will be on top. Bill Gates could lose Steve Job's entire net worth and still be more than OK.

Steve Jobs probably won't be alive in 5 years....
But even then, MSFT has a larger market share than AAPL. No businesses utilize AAPL products and aapl seems to be more of an American thing too. They're nowhere near as common elsewhere. |

i'm talking more about computers, software, etc. yes, itunes rakes in serious cash, but a lot of that goes to pay record labels, artists, etc. now, travel anywhere else in the world and try to find apple computers or apple software as much as you would here, you'll have trouble finding it. fact is, ipod or not, apple is a little fish swimming in a sea of microsoft.

Jobs is closer to Oprah(2.7bil) than Gates which is a shame IMO. I dont think it bothers him too much. From what I've read he is more about the principle.
That 25yr old that started facebook would catch up if he actually found a way to rake in profits from all of our info...lol Still worth a solid 2 billion though. It's world's third most visited site daily. That team has quite the conundrum over the next few years.
