Does BMW Send a Thank You Letter?

I've had my car just about 7 weeks now and so far I have yet to get a letter from BMW even acknowledging that I bought a new car from them. Maybe it just takes them longer than other car companies or do they even bother?

Even my dealers principal owner (although I think it came from BMW), thanked me the cheap way by sending an email which also asked me to rate how the sale process and delivery went.

I read where some people have received a 1 year congratulations from BMW but do you hear from them in between?

sometimes they do sometimes they dont.

i got the M and 335 on the same day and just got a thank you letter for the 335. also, one year has passed and got that sketch of the 335, but not the M

im pretty sure the M purchase had a wider profit margin at the time.

in 2007 I got book with 3 CDs and a DVD for my 335i.
The 3 CDs were a spoken short adventure/crime/romance stories that involved BMW car as part of plot of story... kinda cool when long drive all alone, but I could only listen to it once just like reading a book.
The coolest CD short spoken story was "The Debt" by Simon Kernick (narrator Burn Gorman) it's 36 minutes long. It's about a boxer Billy needs to payoff his vast gambling debt to local shark "The Crim". However he's short and is forced at gunpoint to use his pride and joy , a brand new BMW 7 Series to make up the total. He is determined to get it back. But to do so, he has to fight his way past "The Crims" goons...
.... he eventually gets his BMW back... and a Slovakian stripper with the car too... together they drive away accross the border etc,.
Cool story.

My '07 335i was one of the first ones produced in 2006, maybe thats why I got a thank you gift? They had more promotion money to spend?

Frankly, guys, I don't worry too much about 'thank you' gifts. I just assuage myself with the knowledge that I own a 414 hp BEAST which redlines at 8400 rpm and has German refinement - basically, I've got an incredible machine which costs a fraction of Italian exotica - the only thing that comes close, engineering-wise.

Now if that darn E90 sketch would just show up all would be well...

Just an update. About a month ago, I did receive a book, 3 CD's and the DVD along with a congratulation letter from BMW. And in the past 2 weeks, I have received 3 surveys on how the car is. One is from J.D.Power & Associates.

I received a thank you letter from the owner of the dealership each time I bought a new BMW and it's my fifth in six years. It comes down to the personality of the owner really. The owner is known in the Montréal community to be an affable person who devotes a lot of time to charitable events.

Other owners are just dicks who are businessmen and only interested in the bottom line.
