Definitely would be a fun car to own. And they just came out with a new aluminum block. The engine alone weighs like 120 lbs less. I think the styling is badass too. My only concern would be that base mustangs are common and that'd make this less special.

On the flip side, I could see this as a second car that is a track and street beast that you just plan to mod the hell out of and make a fun weekend driver. But as a DD, no way.
Yeah, those launches are bad ass. |

Dude I had a 2007. Huge piece of shit. I nearly died one time when I hit some sand going 30 in a turn. Horrible road handling, terrible ford build quality, horrible interior, terrible suspension set up, weak ass super charger (get a kenne bell or procharger), the list goes on.
To sum it up I sold mine after 20,000 excruciating miles, sure it was fun but it was still a cheap ford. I do however miss that speed. Damn it was fast. When I down shift in my 328i nothing happens, but thats the reason I drive it, bmw quality and 30+ mpg and I can't do 180+. |

+1 and +1
I've always liked the styling of this gen GT500. It still looks a little bloated like all the new/newer mustangs, but it works with all the other styling/perf cues of the GT500. Nice and aggressive. It's also not as over the top looking as the KOTR.

The 2011 GT will have a NA 5.0L DOHC V8 engine with 412HP (375TQ, I believe) that I much prefer than anything FI, even if less power. It'll be a performance bargain, but I absolutely HATE the retro styling crap, so I wouldn't own one for nothing. I much prefer a used (but pristine) C6, although the interior is crap as well, but more easily remedied.

The engine was crackling as he rev up, kind of odd sounding, must be the RPM limiter kicking in or something.
I am a big muscle car fan and definitely like mustangs, own a few in the past and restored a 66 stang with 289 in it. Before buying a 335I I was seriously considering putting my name on a wait list for Shelby 500. I am glad I did not since I do drive my car every day. The stang make so much engine and exhaust noise that it will wear on your nerves after a period of time that is for sure. It fun when you are young but it makes hard to enjoy day after day. |
