I would recommend Blue Water Grill in Union Square West. It's a great restaurant, a bit pricey though. It's great if you like seafood or a good fillet mignon.

Depends where you're going in NYC. It's kinda big. Can't really go wrong anywhere though.

Most people are in Manhattan if they're going for the day. Brooklyn will take you an hour subway just to get there.

69 bayer street right in chinatown. Best chinese I've had. BEST. Place is open 24 hours. It looks to be a hole in the wall place, but the the dishes are authentic and fresh. Get the clams in black bean sauce, salt and peppered squid and watercrest soup. I'd drive all the way from Conneticut into the city just to eat some weekends.

69 Bayard is a great place for a cheap meal that is fast and tasty, especially after a night of drinking. But to call it the best Chinese food in the area is a far stretch lol.

You sir have great reading comprehension skills. 90% of my trips into the city is to eat. Great restuarants and so many different cuisines to choose from. Absolutely love it. Sometimes I hit K-town, but a couple hours after K-town I hit the toilet. HARD.

What do you mean by "REALLY, REALLY"? I love both meats but I'm not understanding where you are taking that

Really? Were actually staying in Brooklyn at my cousins. Him and his GF both work in the city and he doesn't make it seem that bad. We also won't be riding in to Manhattan during the morning rush.

Uh, Not Peter Lugers. It's right off the Williamsburg bridge.
OP if you have an iphone or an ipod touch, it helps to have the MTA subway/bus map app.

what type of food are you looking for and what's the budget?

NYC can offer as high as the Per Se tasting meal to as low as the local noodle joint in Chinatown.

For something nice with the significant other: Sea Grill - Rockefeller Center next to the skating rink. View of the rink and the lunch/dinner is reasonably good. On par with Blue Water Grill mentioned ealier and about the same price range... Make a reservation as Fridays tend to get crowded in any decent restaraunt in NYC
