My friend gave me his 2g iphone and i was wondering what is the best way to unlock it for free? What program should i use? It has firmware 2.0 and the top power off button doesnt work so i cant turn it off so if thats one of the steps i guess i cant unlock it. And any other advice would also be appreciated. Btw i will be using Tmobile

It's been a long time since I have done it but I believe it just turns itself off and reboots with a weird matrix like screen for a min then turn back on....not positive cause i haven't done it in forever but I'm sure you could just check out a youtube video to see exactly what happens

Should i upgrade firmware or should i leave it i have firmware 2.0 believe if so which one should i update to thanks will prob use ziphone dont have to turn it off.

Idk yet if i want to sell it but will contact you if you want it. I never need to turn my phone off so thats not a problem having it on all the time.
