Cool Benz Announces C Coupe Due 2011

a new benz coupe is comming early 2011 with sales mid 2011. they will be making an amg version which they deem is a "real m3 killer".

imo you really can't compare the new c coupe to the current e92 m3 but compare to the new f32 m3 and you got a comparision. looking forward to the final results regardless.

excited to see the new 5.5L direct injection twin turbo v8 put into good use. i hope they pair this with their mct tranny. and wait for the tunes for this beast it is going to be a BEAST!!!

although the next gen m3 will be a turbo as well & the excitment for tuning (vishnu & burger )

That's what I meant, excuse me I am currently high of hydracodone from wisdom teeth removal

If that benz has a turbo'd V8 I don't think the M will be able to top it

Oh man i'm very interested. If MB continues to produce such car with design inspiration from E / SL / S, it would be one badass automobile.

But from that spy photo, back end looks very long to be a coupe.

Could be.

If the C63 is eventually getting the 5.5liter twin turbo. That leaves the next gen M3 with a turbo 6, shit out of luck.

The Benz 5.5L tt will be a beast of a powerplant.

Even if it is possible for the M3 F32 to get an M 3.3l V6 TT (M 4.4l V8 TT minus 2 cylinders), it shall still be an I6, because then BMW would not build a new M 3.0l I6 TT, for the M1 E82. About Mercedes I do not think they will put the AMG 5.0l V8 BT into the C AMG, but build a new AMG 3.5l or 3.7l V6 BT. Before the C 32 AMG had a NA V6. Then it became a C 55 AMG, like SL 55 AMG, but it got the FI V8 without supercharger. If the C AMG gets the 5.0l V8 TT, it will never be an "M3 Killer" with 800 Nm on the rear axle. I am sure AMG is secretly working on a new AMG V6 BT.

Sorry to correct you but the C32 wasn't a normally aspirated engine, it was 3.2 v6 that was supercharged.

Footie.

lol wtf.

So lets get this straight. The CLK aka the E coupe is no longer considered a competitor to the 3 series coupe.
and the new "C" coupe is the competitor to the m3.
thats pretty lol. so they're like what 20 30 years late?
what happened to a 1 series coupe competitor.
poor effort cause frankly it looks like the size of the CLK

oh and if anyone wants a render

lame.

I will bet a lot of money they are not working on a V6 BT.

The current C63 can be ordered today with 481hp. A V6 BT will not cut it.

The new SLK AMG has been seen testing and it has a V8 rumble. The C63 will have a V8 with some turbos, also rumored a 4.6L BT. What it is, it will be mated to their new MCT transmission.

My guess is the 5.5L BT, detuned liked the current C63.

A detuned FI engine is not the same as a detuned NA engine. This 5.5l BT V8 will wit ha tune easily get 700 HP.

That is what makes the furture for these turbo powerplants so bright. A simple tune on these powerplants and you have a MONSTER!

The new C AMG is going to get something much more dangerous than the V8 Biturbo. It is going to get a V6, but not a V6 Biturbo, not a V6 Kompressor, but a V6 Comprex. It will be a V6 with a Pressure Wave Supercharger, shortly called Comprex. It has the advantages of both turbo and supercharger. This new engine is going to be very light, very powerful, very torquy, very efficient and very responsive.
The engine being very light, the car will NOT be nose heavy. Being very powerful and torquy it will have very good accelerations, and being very efficient it will not eat drink much petrol. Then being very responsive, it will be very good on track. Having a better engine, a better balance and better fuel consumption, the new C AMG is just going to be a real M3-Killer. The M3 is in very big danger, if BMW M does not do anything, and will just put M badges on a 335i.
