In the (VERY) beginning I paid for everything. Then once we started dating we started to either take turns or split.

I voted for the first option. But it doesnt make sense each girl is different. You have your whores, gf, wifeys, friends, best friends, etc..

I know girls that love to take me out pay. I know girls who only expect me to pay. So it varies..

You can read a lot from a girl when teh bill comes and what they do. I had some leave the table and go to the "restroom." And I had some stand up and fight with me in front of everyone just to pay the bill.

Wholeheartedly agree with this. If it's like a good female friend we'll split as I would with any of my guy buddies.

But with my girlfriend, for the most part I pay for our dinner/drinks - as I believe it's the man's role to take care of his woman. She will fight for the bill and try to pay or at least split and I appreciate that.

Sometimes I will let her because in part, I don't want to take away her feeling of independance or being able to contribute either, if that makes sense. She does feel bad, but she makes up for it in other ways.

If she just sat there without doing anything or expected it, she'd be gone in a second.
