Thumbs down Excuse me Honda but wtf is this sh*t: new production Civic images revealed.

It looks like they took the '06 models and put them on lift kits for christ's sake. WTF is with the wheel gap? The interior is a mess, and the only real changes look like the measly character line along the bottom of the sides and the new taillamps (which aren't really an improvement on the outgoing coupe's).

Honda, you're killing me. I'm gonna see thousands of these on the road for the next five years. It's like one single model will have been on sale for a decade.

From Insideline:
Quote:
This is the face you'll see some 3-billion of before very long, the face of the all-new 2012 Honda Civic. It sure is....well...safe.

The Civic will soon come in five different styles: HF, Si, Natural gas, Hybrid and normal.

At the top of the range will be the Civic Si which will have 200 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque (22% more) from a 2.4-liter I4 returning an EPA estimated 31 mpg with a six-speed manual transmission.

Next is the all-new Civic HF. This is "the most fuel efficient gasoline-only powered Civic in the lineup." It's got a 1.8-liter I4 returning 41 mpg. That's 2 mpg better highway economy than the regular Civic.

There's also a Civic Hybrid offering 110 horsepower from the 1.5-liter gasoline motor and the Lithium-Ion electric powertrain. Honda is claiming 45 mpg from this model.

Impressed? Excited? Or too conservative all around?

That's gotta be the most bland thing I've seen in a while.

Honda lost its way sometime after they made the S2000.

Yeah, definitely BORING! Looks like the older Hyundais.

Dont worry though, teenagers will rice those babies up in no time to give them some pizzazz.

They didnt take the shipping blocks off. It is unfathomable, the kind of imbeciles that work for American Honda.

Man I coulda made it all the way down Lakeshore Drive in the middle of the blizzard this year with that sort of ground clearance.

I don't think the interior is terrible. It's not great, but not nearly as bad as a lot of interiors on the market today.

Haha, we appreciate cars so we think it is horrible. Someone looking at reliability and gas mileage (most people) will love it.

How the hell doesn't a civic deserve to be posted in the gen section. The whole point of the subforum is to keep up with auto news. You're gonna see half the streets filled up with this shit.

You can see this pre production non Si model in the desert is lower. If anything, it is supposed to be the other way around for the US. Trust me, someone screwed up the launch for one of the bestselling models in the biggest market for this $100bn company.

You know, you would be funny if your didn't actually have a 128i and were commenting on the looks. The Sedan is a bit crap but the Coupé is quite nice, obviously much better than the 1.

I think Honda is going for the highest clearance in fleet for cars.

Looks like a facelifted 06-11 civic. I stopped looking at civic after 2000 (2001 sucked) the current SI was not bad since it had a good engine....this new civic almost has the same interioir as the outgoing. The thing is that the current model is selling well so there was no need to revamp it. At least the HF made a comeback

Yeah I posted pics of the coupe but it looks like the site does't allow hotlinking. At least the front fascia is relatively new looking.
