THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, India — What should India, rising but still plagued by poverty, do with a newly discovered treasure of gold coins, statues and jewels in the vault of a Hindu temple, valued at some $22 billion?

The government of India should use the money for public services and research.

Why? It was found on private land owned by the former royal family. It has nothing to do with the government.

You cant argue with the man. India is screwed for a long time... Bus drivers have PhD's over there.... yeah, its that bad.

Shiiiiiiiit, it has a lot to do with the government! The government of India would then take its 'hard-earned' share through taxation. Or, it can fall back on its extensive land-reform precedents and redistribute to achieve 'equity' for all the poor people around the area. A now there are judges to rule on who gets to keep the money...? While you're at it, try telling China that its theft of intellectual property rights violates your rights.

This isn't America. India doesn't work like that.

Yeah man. Although, things have been improving in the motherland over the last decade or so. Job and business opportunities are actually better there than here in the states

although salaries aren't comparable to western countries...yet. Ever been?
