it's alright. it's expensive for a marginal steak IMO. it's still a prime quality steak, but i find it sub-par compared to other steak options in that range around here. i feel the same way about the palm.
ruth's chris makes a pretty good steak for a chain like morton's or palm. i would rather have a ruth's chris steak over morton's. do you have any other steak options? non-chain local prime steakhouses usually blow the doors off chains. |

I'd try and find a local well established prime steakhouse instead of the chains. I've eaten at Morton's, Ruth Chris, Flemings etc and frankly can come really close at home on my own with prime beef.
I've had a few amazing meals at little local places like Alfreds or House of Prime in SF with clients. I'd keep looking there's lots of options in the $100 steak meal category. Unless of course Chelsea pays! Sorry had to say that. |

Of the chains I would also go Ruth's Chris. Hell, I ate at one in Cabo and the steak was still very, very good. Capital Grille was decent as well but nothing compared to the great steak houses of NYC.

I dont favor mortons. Ruth Chris in garden city is the best steakhouse yet! been going there for over 12 years now.
that sizzling buttered plate is the best. My meal is always as follows: crab cakes for appetizers, new york strip with creamed spinach and garlic mash. Desert is usually the berries and cream.

Friends took us to Ruth's Chris, overall not blown over by the food. Steak was good of course, but the side dishes and dessert, which I consider to be important, just tasted like mass made cafteria food.

Prime is a great restaurant. I am a truffle fiend. So it caters to my palate. But their steak is pretty standard for a steak house.

IMO Morton's does not measure up to Ruth's Chris or any of the higher end steakhouses. I don't really consider Ruth's Chris to be high end, or if it is then it's the bottom of the range. So Morton's is below that. Last time I went was to the Morton's off of Union Square in SFO. The food was expensive and mediocre. I ordered a Crown and Coke and discovered after the fact that they poured it with Crown Royal Reserve so they could charge me $16 for my drink.
Best steakhouse I've been to is either McKendrick's in Atlanta or Don Shula's in Miami. This.
