Funny timing as I just bought my first road bike last week and am having the same thoughts this guy is writing about.

I thought same thing since I just bought a high end mountain bike and I'm having a blast, maybe I will get a road bike as well.

I had always been a very strong biker growing up but it had been some 10 years since I've ridden. Riding a road bike after a mountain bike is like getting into an M3 from a Wrangler.

I have a crappy road bike but a nice mountain bike (Santa Cruz Tallboy with Haven Carbon wheels).
It's expensive at $5500, but compared to a Porsche it has offered far more smiles per dollar. |
