From many of the spy shots on 1addicts.com, you can get a feel for the car and it's lines--which resemble the E46 on many accounts. The only thing that continues to be covered up are the tailights--which are rumored to look like the 3er's. If that's the case--I really will make the jump.
The 3 has gotten to big rather big and heavy--there is certainly space in the back and trunk area of my E92 that I have never, and will probably never, use. So here we have something a little smaller, most likely faster, and certainly cheaper than the current 3--what's not to like?

I will certainly be taking a good hard look at the 1 series when it comes out. It'll be my fun/commuter car. |

Anybody know the price point for these? I mean they can't be in the $20k, especially with a TT engine. If they're priced similar or slightly less than a 3 series, wouldn't people just opt for a bigger car?

Well lets see the 128, will be the least loaded model, if they even call it that, so I figure about 24-25 base...135 if they even call it that might have a few more features, so I figure about 29-30 base, and the reason I say that they want to have a car below 30,000..I could be wrong....so we will just have to wait and see....I just want to see the full thing..hopefully at Geneva....from what I see BMW is gonna make sure they don't repeat that fiasco they had with the 318ti..what a fracking dog ass car.

Either way--its gonna be cheaper than my E92. Plus you guys have to remember that these videos and spy shots are not showing the complete car--many of you that don't like the rear should know that the unveiled rear is supposed to be very close to the E92. I had my reservations about the rear too, b/c I thought it would look horrible if there were no lights on the trunk lid, but this supposedly will be unveiled on July 1st, so we shall see....

Personally I don't like the car. I have talked to people who have driven the 1er and they said the handling sucks. Maybe bmw will beef it up for the US. BMW seems to be trying to sell a car for everyone. Selling this small car (wouldn't that compete with their mini anyway), and rumors of bmw buying Volvo. BMW needs to be careful how many cars they sell or they will loose their appeal. BMW will turn into a Ford company.
