so my baby is gone :(

so after 4 years and about 80,000km my car has been written off.
happened today. i was going north on ford drive and there was a minivan making a left turn. he decided when i was about 10 feet away from the intersection to start turning. i hit him while being super hard on the brakes.
before and after pictures. i have a banged up knee and whiplash.
i'll be posting up better pictures tomorrow.
i miss her already.
i'll be selling some parts as soon as i get things sorted out.

thanks guys, i really miss my car right now.
i gave my cell to my brother to take pictures of it.
after i hit the van (family of 6 who are all fine.) i jumped the curb which really messed up everything underneath.
the minivan had a damaged fender, bumper, light and maybe wheel and needs an alignment. it can be repaired. my car on the other hand. damn.

As a fellow E30 owner I am horrified with those pictures. Friends always make fun of me how I am more anal about my 17 year old car than my brand new coupe... but what do they know, they don't own an e30.

i'm not at fault. many witnesses have told the police that the other driver was at fault as i had the right of way.
he is being charged and i have been told to see a lawyer but i don't know yet. still kinda shooken up by the whole thing.

Glad you're okay... and a driver making a left turn is pretty much always at fault so I think you're in the clear.

On a side note - anyone else notice the 328i in the background of the last picture... could mean something

I don't want to come off like an asshole but seeing as you were injured you could make a buck or two off of this and pay it towards the 335i. It seems most accidents happen when one person is going straight through an intersection and another person is turning either right or left. Someone did $15K in damage to my brother's '06 Audi S4 this way, and his four year old son was in the car. Right after impact his son turned to him and said "Daddy, is this what being in an accident is?"

Glad you're O.K. and sad to hear about the car.

If you don't get the 335i. Maybe you can get the new 1 series coupe (135i)...I find it's the spiritual successor to the E30

See a lawyer - you know the other guy will, and will do anything to shirk his responsibility. Amazing what shitty drivers people around here are. I am glad you're alive; let the GTA guys know if there is anything we can do to help out.

Hope you get better soon!

The only good side is that nobody was really injured.
