Lotta stories running around about how the iPhone 5 is not compatible with a lot of cars because of the new dock connector. Other stories say that the new dock connector doesn't allow steering-wheel control over the iPhone 5. I've linked a couple of stories below that claim that it won't be compatible with BMW cars.

But this ONLY a problem if you have a cradle, right? I have a 135i with a USB connector, but not a cradle. I should be able to control an iPhone 5 through the steering wheel just fine, right?

Apple offers a 30pin to iPhone 5 adapter, but that probably won't fit in a cradle. If you have a 30 pin to usb/audio cable then the adapter should work.

I understand that adapter won't allow for "iPod out" UI functionality that BMW uses however.
