HS Football pictures
Why are they so damn hard to get good ones once the sun sets? My pre ~7:30 shots are very good but after that it slowly declines, some of the best photos are from the end of the first half 8:15 and are grainy and blurry. I adjusted the ISO to 1600 and lowered the shutter speed but ugh, I need the money for a professional lense.
Sorry for the rant

Must get a good lens with a large aperature. Look for the 80-200 f/2.8. It should run about 600-800 used. Makes all the difference in the world. Look around, you can probably rent a 400mm or 600mm somewhere nearby.
Watch our for iso 1600. It can get real grainy. And, always use your tripod!
