Does anyone have experiences with this or similiar gadgets?

I coded folding mirrors and accurate speedometer using the app. Very easy to use and will code many standard options along with getting fault codes. The website lists exactly what can be coded. 2007 onwards can use Bluetooth for coding and diagnosis whilst pre 2007 cars need a cabled connection for coding (they can do fault codes using BT in both pre and post 2007).

Can also do logging on some engines, but it appears my N54 isn't presently supported for this function.

I just tried the BMWHat Lite app to test compatibility on my 08 e92 335i. It took forever to verify connection.. One thing I'm confused about is, does this use the built-in Bluetooth connection my phone has with the car, or do I also need the separate OBD BT adapter? Thanks.

It doesnt use the built in car bluetooth. It uses the bluetooth in the phone to connect with a bluetooth elm327 obd plug. Get the blutooth obd plug from ebay for less than 10 dollars. A cable connection may give quicker communication but you will then need the cable and an otg adaptor to connect usb to your phone.

App is also available on iphone but you need a wifi elm327 rather than bluetooth.

The list of compatible E chassis cars doesn't show E89. Anyone try this on their car yet?

E89 is listed as ok for coding. Drop the guy an email to confirm. He's pretty quick to respond, although bear in mind the time difference as he's in Germany.

Anyone know how this is supposed to be pronounced? Is it "B-M-What" or "B-M-W hat"? Or something else?

Lots of details here:

Limited functionality with my 2007 Z4MC but great with my 2011 X5 via wifi adapter.
