Any cops here? big brother type question

Heres what happened.... Im a little worried.
All evening this lexus suv's alarm is going off. for like 2 minutes at a time, every half hour, 45 minutes. whatever. no one checks on it, or anything.
Then, what i thought was totally unrelated, three cop cars roll up and they pull to this one guys house who is always loud and having parties and stuff. They talk to him, quiet him down and whatever. then i believe something unrelated happened.
they come over to me and my friends, and we are standing outside, sorta near the lexus. The alarm is going off again and they asked it us if it was our car. we told them it wasnt. so the cop walked to his car, and came back. put his hand in his pocket, and the alarm for the lexus went off, the lights flash, and he OPENED THE DOOR looked inside. closed the door and then put his hand in his pocket and the lights flashed like it was locking.
I have no idea....
was it related? was the cop playing jokes? i dunno

i really dont know.... i wish i did know.. any cops on this board? anyone that knows any cops.. ?
the car just recieves a transmission from a certain frequencry to unlock the doors,,,, right? so its possible that cops could carry a remote that sends a bunch of frequiences through all the possible waves or whatever... but then i guess it woulda opened all the doors of every car..... right? im so confused
