Funny you mention meets though. I've never gone to a BMW meet but there is a cape cod corvette club that I plan on joining as soon as I buy my vette.

Being only 17, a Z06 is out of my reach, but my friends dad had one as a DD up until a month ago(time for something new haha). He's 65 years old and lives with his only son. If it's possible to DD, it'll be more than enough weekend car. Nothing like watching him smoke tires pulling out of the driveway!
