Seems like a lot of us BMW fans have Macs. Is this because we appreciate style and cutting edge simplicity or because the only ones who are answering this thread are the ones with Macs?

I got so used to using a PC, I kind of have a mental blockage against them now. What's the difference between Windows and Unix? I'm not being sarcastic! I swear! I'm curious about this. |

there is a common misconception now that if you use one of the new Macs, you have to know UNIX. that is simply not true. you need to know nothing about UNIX, in fact, they make it so idiot-proof now that they even built in Windows naming conventions for people that switch over from Micro$oft. if you're willing to at least look at it, i recommend to just go over some pics and text here: CNET looks at OS X Tiger or for a really good introduction to it go to: http://www.apple.com/macosx

YAH! Growing up, I used old MACs in school becuase they gave schools really neat discounts or something. I now use both, but I prefer the PC because I'm just used to it. Easier for me to use. I HATE HOW MACS DONT HAVE A RIGHT CLICK! Like sometimes when I try to click the right side, I realize, "Oh yeah, there isssss not right side." |

i have a lot of problems with my mac.
My old, cheap crappy pc, would freeze up once or twice a month, i would have to manually restart the whole computer. it sucked, but it was only a couple of times a month. Almost everyday my brand new powerbook freezes up a program. the WAY good side is that you just force quit that one program and hope you dont lose anything vital. but the downside, is it happens a lot. Also, probably about once a day, i will be using a program, and it will just turn itsself off. it gives me a little box to complain and describe the error, but there never is one, it just closes itsself. thats EXTREMELY annoying. I think those are the biggest problems Sometime i can her the hardrive or disk drive make this real weird noise. like if i place a cup within 6 inches of the omputer on the same surface it like scares the computer. i have no idea. i like my computer. im relatively happy i made the switch to mac. but for 3,000 dollars, im not in love or 100% impressed.

OH YAHHH MY IBOOK PISSES ME OFF LIKE NO OTHER.
I use my Ibook for taking lecture notes in my classes and that thing will just shut off on me! It says I still have 40% battery left etc and while im typing it just turns off adn goes to standby until I plug in my adapter to charge it -- except.. its rude to just go plug it in during class. enroutte, it might be too late, but try calibrating it. MAYBE it will help.
just use your battery until its totally dead, like deader then dead, then charge it until its allllllll the way charged. and maybe for fun, repeat.
