Preparation for road trip?

I'm doing trip #3 LA to SF, but this time taking me nicer car (MB E55, previously took my E320).

Some people recommended putting blue tape on the front. Are there particular areas to cover up? I'm not going to tape up the whole front end.

Front bumper. Bottom portion of hood(where it meets the grill). Front of the fenders.

I actually decided against it, theres actually not too much loose gravel on the I 5 so I think I should be good.

I'd be more worry about speeding and CHPs...V1 should cover 90% of that, but there might be operations that utilizing laser....
