Replaced the 135i with a "Girl's car"
My 135i had been giving me problems with the DCT transmission for months. It would stall in traffic, over speedbumps, and just act very erratic in 1st gear. Dealer blamed bad gas and gave it back to me. Didn't offer any help in diagnosing. One day on my way to work, it stalled twice in stop and go traffic, and that was the last straw. I had been eyeing this car on craigslist and that same day, I went home with it. Don't think I'll be buying another BMW anytime soon, at least not in Hawaii from this dealer.
Some say it's a girl's car, but until you drive it spiritedly and listen to the noise it makes, you can't help but respect it. I love it, much more than 135. '07 SLK55 AMG with 030 AMG Performance Package. Here's a quick video a friend made from a recent meet. Enjoy!

I love these cars. Something cool about a big motor, 2 seats, vert top, and big brakes in the same car. Same reason i love the Z4M.

If people tell you it's a girl's car tell them, "Yeah, but you should see the girl."
Sorry your 135 problems didn't work out, man. Surely you'll have a blast with that car. The SLK was on my short list but I wanted to get out of roadsters and the new ones are a bit pricey. They are slick, though.

A non-M 1er is more of a girl's car than an SLK55

That's what I think TK. The 135 suspension was soft and the overall design was rounded and soft. The SLK55 is definitely more of a sports car. Handles a LOT better than a 135 and is quite oversteer happy. Easy to get the tail out and very easy to control a slight drift. Very entertaining.
The "girl car" comments suddenly stopped when I started the 5.4L V8 and they suddenly realized it sounded like a proper car.

I find this very funny cus I have been having a ton of problems with my car and you were defending this car left and right.. It just proves that BMW needs to get their stuff together when it comes to reliability. My dealer gave my the same crappy excuse..

Pretty embarrassing to have the car stall going over a speed bump in Auto mode with my mom and my girlfriend in the car. Both wouldn't stop telling me to get rid of the car after that... and I did a few weeks later... Loving the SLK now though. The AMG Performance Package suspension and brakes feel MUCH better than the 135, and the v8 makes much nicer music too! Always got good service with the Mercedes I had before the 135, so not too worried about that.

LOL! No, his old SLK is not my new one, and his 135i is not my old car.

Never understood the sticker on the bumper in Hawaii. I was just there in September and it made me cringe each time I saw a nice whip with the hideous sticker. Is that the registration decal? Why not on the windscreen like most other states?

"safety check" inspection. Tires, suspension, lights, wipers, etc checked once a year. Sticker is proof.
