2011 V6 camaro...
I had one as a loaner a couple weeks ago when I brought my 335d in for a check engine light. Anyway I felt that the v6 camaro is slow. This guy I work with has one and he thinks it's fast... He said that the rental car company (enterprise) must retard the timing or something so people can't beat on them or something...
What are your thoughts? Even before installing the jbd on my d it felt faster than the v6 camaro. |

It makes 300hp at peak. I wouldn't say that's a slouch. Your D probably "feels" faster because of the gobs of torque at low RPMs. It gives you that "suck you back in your seat" feeling of going fast.

I don't know how people can DD those new Camaros, the visibility is horrible.

Doesn't the d put up better numbers than the V6 Camaro? It's got a peak of over 300 HP, but it's naturally aspirated and tied to an aircraft carrier anchor. I'd hate to ask what your opinion was after driving a V6 Gen 4 Camaro. It's come a long way since then.

335d has around 425tq? while 335i has 300. V6 Camaros, like V6 Mustangs, aren't slow either, 300hp & 300 tq for only $24k. |

Yeah, these cars are cheaper than a base 328i, and much much much better performance. I'm not sure why they are getting trashed.

I agree with everything on here! I currently have a 2012 camaro lt1 v6 untill my car is fixed from a little accident.. And coming from a 328i with a decent amount of mods, I can definetley feel the difference.. Can't compare it to a 335i or d but im having a good time driving it (other than the horrible throttle response).. And yes it's true, probably the car with the least visibility I've ever driven! lol*

Like everyone said, it's the torque that your diesel has that makes it seem faster. The V6 Camaro, for the money, isn't a bad car at all, my gf's mom has one and the visibility in it is much better than the Z4M coupe that I daily drive...

also, it could be possible that the car was coded to limit the power.
But i doubt they would. Usually that really only limits how high the car is allowed to rev. Like valet mode. |

My sister has a '11 v6 camaro. My other sister beats her in her c300 4 matic. There's nothing good about the camaro, I mean it is huge but has a small trunk and interior so all the space is wasted. The car also has no driving feel. Gm pos in my opinion.

328i 0-60 is more accurately 5.9 seconds actually. With a simple tune, muff delete, and performance intake you can lower it to 5.6-5.7 |

5.9 would put the E90/92 328i on par with the current F30 328i which doesn't seem realistic since the F30 has more HP and Torque, and weighs less.
I like Inside Line's numbers the best out of all the "mags", and they say the E90/92 328i does 0-60 in 6.4 seconds which seems realistic. Inside Line also tested the V6 Camaro at 6.1 0-60. Additionally on DragTimes, the fastest E90/92s are high 14s, to low 15s cars. V6 Camaros are low 14s to mid 14s cars on the same website. In a straight line the 328i is just a lot slower.

Here's a V6 Camaro vs an E92 328i with exhaust from a roll (please obey all traffic laws ), and it ends pretty much how I thought it would end.
