My VW 2.0T jsw has 23k and currently has had no issues. Boy do I hope I got a good one. We intend to keep this car for awhile. Mainly because my wife doesn't understand car pricing. She thinks car loans should be between $300-400, she doesn't realize that will basically buy a Civic. Needless to say she was in for a suprise when she spec'd out a X5d the other day. She then asked me about a CPO lol

Update. NHSTA has a open defect investigation on file. you can pull the summary like I did this morning. I think it states VW has done 3 HPFP re-designs. But the real root cause looks like lack of lubrication in our USA diesel supply. So one option is now that we have the latest and greatest HPFP to run some additive with each tank. May be cheaper than buying a new car!!! We went through the gauntlet last night of picking her a replacement for this Wagen... there isn't much out there new to 3yrs old for her. She's physically restricted from driving larger cars b/c the seats don't fit her correctly. (she's 5'-0"). I had her sit in my 335i, bottom seat cushion is really about 2-3" too long. She doesn't fit the CC rental, or my MKZ. She barely fit my friends new 2012 Sonta. And I really dont' want to buy a new anything.... looking for a 2-3yr CPO, Compact, Auto, Gas, Sedan or preferably wagen.

The gamble of keeping it though is if it happens again, we may be on the hook. VW is NOT giving an extended warranty. And there are some claims within the 60k warranty that VW is arguing about paying for it. And yes, I verfied with my dealer it's just shy of a $10,000 repair bill this time around that VW is picking up. So if it blows up in 15 or 20k again we may get "proper F'kd" as they said in the movie snatch.
