what to do?

recently had a problem with my cars headlight and purchased a light kit from a auto parts retailer. I asked the sales person/store owner to sell one that would work with my factory car and with warranty. She shows me a kit and tells me it would fit my car and plenty others. I only agreed to purchase the light kit because she told me it would fit. Now here is the problem…the light kit will NOT fit my car and I found out it’s a totally different kit. The store owner now tells me that I cant get a refund and that I either have to keep the one I bought or buy the right one for extra money. I would have never had bought the kit if I knew it wouldn’t have fit. Now im being forced to spend more money and time. What can I do?

i dont even want to bother doing business with them anymore

Does the receipt say absolutely no returns on it? If not tell the BBB about them/sue them, or just tell them to give you a refund or you'll sue.

First off, what's the problem with your car's headlights?
What's the reasoning behind the light kit? Are we talking replacement bulbs, angel-eye mod., or what?
Explain why you wouldn't have the dealership just fix any faulty headlight.

Don't take the sales person's word for what will and will not work. The "it'll fit yours any plenty others" comment sounds off. What does the light kit mfg. say it'll work on? Listen to the people making the part, not the ones trying to make a buck off it.

As for the refund. Does the receipt or a sign in the store say their return policy? If it's not made clear at the time of purchase that all sales are final, I'd definetely contact the BBB.
