Anyone with Directv?
I am thinking of cancelling since it's 80$ a month and we hardly watch any of the channels. What other cable/satellite providers do you all use and how much does it cost? One of the directv receivers just broker also.lol

I dunno, I've been a Directv customer for a long time and enjoy the service. I don't watch every channel either, but you won't with any cable/satellite provider. They all have hundreds of channels.

They are all pretty close in price and content.
I had Dish Network before, I think they have the best DVR and interface. I currently have Comcast (DVR sucks, but internet speed is great), and DirecTV (I am still learning it, but I like dish better, got it for the bundle available at the time) |

DirecTV is usually less expensive Than Cable, satellite or U-verse.

Had Comcast for a while and had issues with it constantly. Switched to u-verse and it's pretty good. It's more expensive I think but the customer service is far better than Comcast and lack of issues with service makes up for it.

I would just call their customer service and say you are going to cancel they will work with you. I got my $140 bill down to $70 for a year.
What ever you do dont go with Comcast, their HD looks like ass compared to DTV

Really you could watch the majority of the shows you like on Netflix or free online. Just hook the computer to the TV. |

I ditched Direct TV for a number of reasons, mainly because of the service limitations. When it rains, it pours - no service during those times ... and that's when I was really interested in watching the TV. Additionally I didn't like the menu system. It sucked for years because it was so. slow. Press the pg down button and it would take 4-5 seconds to refresh; slightly more than annoying when you want to look through 10 or more pages. They switched to a new menu right before I dropped them, which was better (faster) but still not to my liking.
I switched to Comcast and haven't looked back. I get the service all the time and the menu system is much more responsive. I got phone/TV/Internet for $99/mo with them. It goes up a bit after the first year but it still was less than Direct TV (I had Comcast Internet/phone service before in conjunction with Direct TV; Comcast greatly reduces the package price when you bundle TV service). I think I was at $80/mo for just Direct TV with the DVR, HD, etc. Direct TV sure did fight over the phone when I told them I was leaving. Too little too late.

Once I decide to cancel the service, did you ship back the receivers? One of my receivers doesn't work anymore and they said a tech will need to come out, but there will be a fee.wtf? I really just wana ditch directv and find something else since all we watch are local channels, espn and cooking channels.
