I recently switched only for the black card. My branch used to offer me the same benefits as PB so I saw no point in switching for the longest time. Nothing different except for a prettier office to sit in. When I use another branch (the one near my house), they don't pester me to switch my account over anymore because I'm PB. And I can call my account dude on his cell phone 24/7 for anything, not that I do. Basically, few perks, not worth it for me at least. I like the black card and the look on people's face when I pull it out. It has gotten me a number or two.

I know the minimum amount is higher but for anyone interested in one of the best wealth and asset management companies check out Northern Trust.

i have a simple etrade brokerage account which lets me trade stocks, write checks, pay bills, and includes a visa debit/check card. cash that isn't invested is automatically routed to a tax exempt bond fund (which sucks at the moment). credit is provided through margin accounts (the rates are fair but currently not using that).
beyond that, i manage my own money. even if the big banks can do it cheap, why wouldn't you want to handle your own money? |
