I'm with TD's system. Do not like it.

Anyone with experience on RBC Private Banking?

If the outside relationship has a good possibility to be moved over in the near future (1-3 months) they will put you in the program to utilize the benefits.

I do that often with my clients, an initial 100-200k investment or asset transfer to a money market. Then they come to appreciate the program and do a mass wealth transfer and there whole relationship comes over

Pm me if you would like some more details about the program!

***Also for anyone looking to purchase a home, get in the program. I cannot tell you how many times we have been able to get ridiculous exceptions for home loans we have direct contact with the private client underwriters and if the money is there they will pull the strings to get the loan done, and all sorts of credits on top of that. ***
I would be interested to know more about CPC.

What were some of the exceptions made on home loans for CPC?

I believe RBC Private Banking in the US is Wealth Management and is investment oriented. I think they require $5Million.

There are many benefits to being part of a bank's Private Client/Private Wealth Management division, including highly personalized service, lower loan rates and fees, extra credit card benefits, etc.
How does your bank compare with Chase Private Client?

$5 Million in hard assets

Or,

$250,000/year income

Or,

$1 Million liquid cash.

I'm with RBC PB.
I recently switched only for the black card. My branch used to offer me the same benefits as PB so I saw no point in switching for the longest time.

Nothing different except for a prettier office to sit in. When I use another branch (the one near my house), they don't pester me to switch my account over anymore because I'm PB. And I can call my account dude on his cell phone 24/7 for anything, not that I do.

Basically, few perks, not worth it for me at least. I like the black card and the look on people's face when I pull it out. It has gotten me a number or two.

I know the minimum amount is higher but for anyone interested in one of the best wealth and asset management companies check out Northern Trust.

i have a simple etrade brokerage account which lets me trade stocks, write checks, pay bills, and includes a visa debit/check card. cash that isn't invested is automatically routed to a tax exempt bond fund (which sucks at the moment). credit is provided through margin accounts (the rates are fair but currently not using that).

beyond that, i manage my own money. even if the big banks can do it cheap, why wouldn't you want to handle your own money?

Unless the "perks" outweigh the fees and the loss of control, whatever those perks are ...
