CNBC's "BMW: A Driving Obsession" -- on TV right now

Just flipping through channels and noticed CNBC is airing an hour-long documentary on BMW right now. Pretty interesting if you're into finding out more about the company, its values, and its history. It's on again at midnight Eastern time and I am planning on DVRing the whole thing since I just tuned in.

Just realized this show is old -- aired originally in 2011. Just wanted to get that out there before a dozen of you more knowledgeable BMW fans inform me of the same.

Thanks for the info. I set my dvr to record the show via my iphone since we are away in vacation !

This show's been re-ran so many times lol I wish they made it some sort of series or soemthing.

if you really like these kinds of shows, today, or maybe Thursday on Science Channel, they have "How It's Made" and they focusing on the Audi R8 manufacturering and assembly process. They also have it for the new Porsche 911 and the Ferrari FF...they're probably all on youtube now too.

They can't show you EVERYTHING like how the transmission is assembled or whatnot, but it shows you how the differences in assembly techniques (if you're into logistics, industrial or process engineering, you'll love it).

Example would be that the Ferrari FF's engine is sand casted, vs most other cars are die cast. They even show the sand casting process. They show the uphostery departement at Porsche cutting out the leather and fitting it over a mold. Show glosses over a lot of other stuff like transmission assembly and electrical stuff (probably mostly boring, though i find transmission gearing very interesting)
