Pics from my recent camping trip in Yosemite (SNOW!)

I went camping in Yosemite 2 weekends ago, and got hit with an unexpected snow storm. Figured I'd share some pics:

1. Starting our early morning hike up Mt. Dana (at 13000', it's the second tallest peak in Yosemite)

5. Still climbing

6. looking downhill

7. Our campsite was next to that lake (Saddlebag Lake)

8. surprise! SNOW!

9. Stayed light for a while

10. we figured it'd let up and sat around waiting

11. mid afternoon snack while we wait

12. still coming down

13. visibility getting worse

14. snow on my tent doors

15. it didn't let up

16. it got worse

17. it got way worse...

at this point we decided to pack up and get the hell out of there. No one was prepared for any snow, let alone snow that was actually piling up!

Took a real scary and dangerous drive down from the mountains and in to the town of Bishop (further away from home) and stayed there for the night. Fun random adventure though.

lol at the umbrellas. You sure looked prepared enough for snow to me! All you need is a sleeping bag and a sleeping partner to keep warm

haha, well someone had the umbrellas because there was rain in the forecast, but not snow.
