Tesla Catches Fire

No surprise here for anyone who has been around cars and batteries long. Yes there is enough energy stored in those batteries to start a fire why are people surprised. But this is no different than any other cars, most car fires are due to an electrical short and the battery pumping current into the short. What is worse add some gas to the equation and you can have lots of fun.

I doubt this will tarnish Tesla like Fiskar was tarnished though.

Damn, +480% in six months... with this event, I may wait for the stock price to drop a little more then buy into it... It already dropped $20 in two days... It looks like it's already starting to make its way back up though...

Hit a piece of metal in the road... Guess if a normal combustion hit a piece of metal which cut a fuel / oil line, same thing could happen.

I find it interesting that the fire was contained to the front half. They said the passenger cabin wasn't damage.
