I hope that Blu-ray wins and I think it will based on studio support along with Sony's support. The playstation 3 having blu-ray drive is going to get the name out there and the quality will speak for itself

But, don't you guys think we will see the same thing happen as we did with Beta? Sony only developed blue ray because they do not want to pay anyone else for technology. Will all the other brandnames support blue ray?

HD-DVD is more durable than Blu-Ray, despite being slower and having a lower capacity. This may be the turning factor.
Who knows, HD-DVD and Blu-Ray might both become available and that would be such a major pain in the ass...but maybe one day someone will be able to pop out a device than can utilize either formats (characteristic of the DVD RW +/- reader/writer). |

I think right now it is considered Blue Ray is quality (BMW) and HD-DVD is cheap (KIA). I may be wrong.

Did you guys read about the HDV - Holographic Versatile Disc. It's a late comer but is rumored to oust Blu-ray and HD-DVD before they can even begin the battle. 1 Terabite of storage...
