Auto inspection services
Has anyone used any of the inspection services that go to seller to check out a vehicle? If so, looking for good/bad comments. I'm thinking about using one to inspect an out of state truck for me.

I used a local BMW specialist to do a pre-purchase inspection of a used M3. Dealer allowed me to drive the car to the inspection location; inspection took about 1 hour.

Ive used lemonsquad.com. Guys actually did a pretty good job. I trusted the seller he was a member on e46fanatics, but you never know. Just wanted someone to go look at it. They took a ton of pics and made sure it drove well. I didnt need much more than that. I think it was like $125 for the inspection.

If you going to have someone look at make sure they are a mechanic and I would say they should be especially knowledgeable about BMW. There are so many specific things you need to look at for a BMW that the average Joe Mechanic could miss. Every day I learn something new about the cars and I am pretty knowledgeable about cars in general.
I always sell cars as is, I generally make no statement about the health of the car. I handed them a folder with all the records on the car and let them go at it. I had a few take it to mechanics and had them come back and claim things are wrong which I know are fine or completely miss things which I know are wrong. Thus the reason it is call buyers beware. |
