Federal judge rules flashing headlights to warn of speed traps legal....

....under the 1st Amendment. Interesting.

I warn people. Takes me all of one second to flash my lights. People do it in return also.

Don't see the harm. Just means they need to learn to hide those fancy Chargers a little better.

What jurisidiction does the federal gov't have ruling on state policed highways

They should rule on something meaningful, like throwing Obamacare off a roof top. Latest economic reports show it has cost more than 2 million full time job equivalents - SMH

Thank god. It is legal. I should be able to get out of my car 300 yards down from the cop and hold a sign saying "Speed Trap C*cksucker up ahead" if I want. I'm tired of local departments trying to suck money out of normal people and not doing sh*t about other things.

Anyone tried any of those apps where people pin point known speed trap locations with success?

+1

I used to be all "I must warn my fellow motorists about the speed trap" and then I realized that most of my fellow motorists are morons who never warn me. I say better them than me. I get my own warnings.

Yeah there's Trapster and Escort Live but then you're relying on someone else to save you from a ticket and well, see my other post...

I tried Trapster back when it was brand new and it didn't work very well. Maybe they have improved it since but my version had some problems. There was no audible warning that you were coming up on one of the spots or anything, you had to be looking at your phone for the warnings. Also all of the spots people had listed were really obvious ones (like the other side of blind turns) that I already expected a cop for.

Thats a good question. Is that part of subject-matter jurisdiction LOL or must be territorial jurisdiction?
It should be LEGAL

I believe it's because it's a constitutional right, not a local or state right.
