I think the sleep number is a good choice, as you can make it super firm when banging a hooker, and the perfect soft or firm rate for actual sleeping. $3k with reclining up and down feature, with dual chambers, for each side.

As for the topic at hand. I have a tempurpedic mattress topper in my room (college) and it does the job for sleeping. Sleep like a baby. As for the sex part....HA ! It looks like a warzone after any type of aggressive thrust session, I feel like I became a gymnast after getting that topper, ended up in positions never thought possible |

This why my bed which I happen to make myself is made out of solid Oak, frame and slate as solid oak as well the bed without the mattress weight 200 lbs and it bolted together and does not move. Spent a few nights on bed which were louder than us.

Amazon has a $700 one where the top 3" are latex over 7" of foam. Good reviews, but apparently they started using cheap base foam so they're not expected to hold up well anymore. Still...for the price, tempting! |

BeautyRest Black are the best mattress I've ever tested (just laying down on while shopping)... never owned one though.

Initial impressions of the SleepEZ 10" latex mattress
Sex: Doesn't slow me down in the slightest. All my moves are as good as my spring mattress. It has about as much bounce as a spring mattress...just ever so lightly more damped and dead quiet. Moving from a queen to a king made the biggest difference though. It's a fucking playground. Sleeping: I've slept well every night, but wake up a little stiff in my upper back and neck. I think it might be too soft. Fortunately, this mattress is reconfigurable. There's a soft, medium and firm layer. I've tried (bottom to top) Firm-Soft-Medium and Soft-Firm-Medium, and will try the stiffest option (Soft Medium Firm) tonight. I may have to return the soft layer for another firm or medium though. Unless you like REALLY soft beds, don't bother getting the soft layer in your order. |

We've got a tempurpedic and I like it, can't say I've ever experienced any issues. Sure its softer and so you sink in a little more, but I don't think its a reason not to buy.
However, I do have lower back pain and all the above posts are starting to make me question whether a firmer bed (which to me seems counterintuitive to improving my back) might actually be better after all? I would have originally thought that memory foam which would contour to my spine and support it would be better. |

I have a latex mattress(CalKing) and I think it's great for sex, I'll be enjoying it and my wife on it in a few weeks.

New issues to bring up. I have a memory foam mattress then we added a 2" topper(I like the soft topper on firm bed). Only issues are if you are doing any long term supporting yourself with your hands. The foam sinks on a small pressure point and it absolutely kills my hands(open palmed or clinched) as it crushes or bends my fingers....still better than sleep number for sleeping.
