Pop Up Video

Sorry, not that Pop Up Video. Occasionally when I am on this website or any for that matter I get these advertisement videos that pop up in the right hand corner. I use Chrome which has a pop up blocker. I also have Kaspersky anti virus that doesnt come up with anything when run. Any thoughts on how to get rid of these?

Thanks for the help!

Never seen that on this forum mate. Do you experience the same thing on your other computers?

Check your homepage settings in Chrome. Some sites may hijack the homepage. If not, check your Control Panel for the last installed software (sort by date) for any programs you didn't specifically install.

I have not seen this on my work computer before and my wife just said she has not had this problem either.

Jexter, I will check that out and run it to see what it comes up with. Thanks for the suggestion!

MYovichZ4, I will look into that as well. I am guessing there will be something in there that isnt supposed to be

Sounds like your computer is infected with a virus. Back up your files, run DBAN, then reinstall the OS.

My procedure:
1. Download Glary Utilities and CCleaner. I know they're both cleaners, but they specialize in different areas, like GU cleans what CC doesn't.
2. Upgrade GU to Pro here to enable deeper scanning. CCleaner Pro doesn't really make too much a difference.
3. If you're still in Chrome, click here. Remove anything suspicious.
4. Go to Control Panel, Uninstall a program, then look for anything that says Conduit, Coolwebsearch, or anything involving coupons, discount, cash, deals, offers, toolbar, savings, or any words related to that and get rid of it.

Update: So I gave it some time after I downloaded Malwarebytes and the pop ups dont occur as much but it still does. Maybe twice since I have had it opened.

I might need to backup and do some re-installing this weekend

@AllWheelPirate: Try my method... Malwarebytes only goes so far sometimes.

Thanks Nefarious! I went by this Friday evening and things seem to be working without a problem so far. Knocking on wood

Adblock is awesome. don't know if that will solve your problem but it's definitely worth downloading and installing regardless. Even blocks most advertisement videos that you're forced to watch when trying to watch some other kind of video.
