Just sat in the new M5 and...

...i wished i could turned the engine on and take off.

i went to the pittsburgh auto show (the lamest auto show i've ever been to) where the BMW stand only had two E90s, one M3 convertible, one 6er convertible, one 750i, and the mighty interlagos blue M5. to my surprise, it was open and no one was trying to get in.

the reason i'm posting this is that someone a while ago asked if it's possible to swap the iDrive knobs from the M5/M6 to E90 and how it feels. well, the M5 knob looks a lot better, in my opinion, more modern, but practically, it doesn't have the same grip as the one in E90s. it's not as comfortable to hold and turn it because it's a lot shorter and wider. anyone else tried it and had the same experience?

if it were possible though, i'd probably still want to swap 'em.

I dont think it will fit. The connection piece is smaller on the 3 than on the 5.

i like the 5/6/7 series nob that has the leather on top.

yeah i know, it wouldn't. but i said if it were possible, it would be cool to have.

my friend has a M5 and i drove it down the road and dammmmmm

we had to wait till it gets to 1200 to push the 500 hp button. he took it to Moroso the other day and ran a 12.47 on the 1/4 mile
