I'd be more inclined to buy one over the v6 turbo (as much as I like turbos), the 427 has only been in largely impractical and heavy sprung road and track cars. It would be nice to have one in a reasonably comfortable practical car.

That would be the wrong direction IMO, the turbo 3.6 is the right direction. In fact, I'd like to see an ATS Vsport with 350hp/350tq, widebody kit, single turbo 3.6, to compete with the 335/340 type cars. The 320hp V6 is too short on torque down low and up high to be a serious competitor, but the ATS has the handling chops to run with any car, so it's just a matter of getting the right powerplant in there.

The LS7 has been around for 9 years and still an amazing motor.
I love how a 350HP V6 is the "right" direction, lol, over a 500HP V8 with tons of mod potential. |
