I'd be more inclined to buy one over the v6 turbo (as much as I like turbos), the 427 has only been in largely impractical and heavy sprung road and track cars. It would be nice to have one in a reasonably comfortable practical car.

That would be the wrong direction IMO, the turbo 3.6 is the right direction. In fact, I'd like to see an ATS Vsport with 350hp/350tq, widebody kit, single turbo 3.6, to compete with the 335/340 type cars. The 320hp V6 is too short on torque down low and up high to be a serious competitor, but the ATS has the handling chops to run with any car, so it's just a matter of getting the right powerplant in there.

The LS7 has been around for 9 years and still an amazing motor.

I love how a 350HP V6 is the "right" direction, lol, over a 500HP V8 with tons of mod potential.

I wasn't saying there shouldn't be a "balls out" version, just that there should be an intermediary version and it shouldn't be the NA 3.6.

The "balls out" should be a twin turbo with a higher tune. The 505hp LS7 is cool, but the torque down low from a twin turbo 3.6 (or bored to 4?) would be even better. That would help keep it as the "little brother" to the CTS-V IMO and be in line with it's smaller more compact chassis.

7.0l V8 vs a 5.0l V10. ~7k redline vs 8.2k redline. ~460lbs vs ~530lbs. ~470 ft/lbs vs ~380 ft/lbs. Likes to valve drop vs rod bearing issues.

The LS7 is better suited to track duties IMO just as long as a valve doesn't drop. Very, very few LS7s are having this issue anymore but I have read that a 1 Z/28 had it happen while running around the road course.

You forgot to mention that the LS7 has far more mod potential and is easier to mod, work on, FAR larger aftermarket and much cheaper to mod and repair.

Not to mention that the gas mileage of the LS7 is far better also.

Oh I only mentioned a few. But overall the LS7 is the better choice to anything over the S85 engine other than the S85 revving higher.
